The Newspaper Works Announces 2015 Future Forum

The Newspaper Works has announced The Hilton, Sydney, as the venue for its 2015 Future Forum.

The Forum features three workshops, full-day plenary and separate gala events for the industry’s advertising and marketing awards and The Newspaper of the Year.

The annual conference convenes newspaper executives from across Asia-Pacific and more than 600 delegates attended this year’s series of events.

In 2015, the Plenary and Newspaper of the Year dinner will be held on Friday, 11 September.

“Our delegate research showed strong support for expansion of the event. More than 90% of 2014 attendees rated the Future Forum Plenary as ‘excellent’ or ‘good’ and the Newspaper of the Year dinner was even more popular,” said Mark Hollands, The Newspaper Works CEO.

“The Hilton is a top-class venue – one of the very best that Sydney has to offer. We are taking the event up another notch next year. The stylish Zeta Bar will host the Advertising & Marketing Awards on the Thursday evening while the Newspaper of the Year Awards will take place in the Hilton’s Grand Ballroom on the Friday night, featuring spectacular entertainment to make it a memorable night for everyone.

“It will be a fantastic opportunity for partners to attend, enjoy the entertainment and maybe stay over in the heart of Sydney for the weekend,” Hollands said.

Sydney remains the most popular city for the event to be held, according to the 2014 delegate research.

Speakers in 2014 included the Minister for Communications, The Hon. Malcolm Turnbull, chief executives of the major Australian newspaper publishers, and senior executives from The New York Times, Axel Springer and Singapore Press Holdings.

In 2015, the Future Forum’s one-day workshops and plenary will remain free to attend.

The event’s Platinum Supporter, Norske Skog, has also confirmed its continuing sponsorship of the event.

“Norske Skog is an outstanding supporter of the work of The Newspaper Works and the industry as a whole. They were delighted with the results this year, and it is great to have them back on board again for 2015,” Hollands said.
