NewsLifeMedia’s lifestyle publisher Nick Smith today announced that Rebecca Caratti has been appointed editor of lifestyle portal Buro247.com.au.

In her new role, which she starts immediately, Caratti will be responsible for the editorial direction and growth of the exciting new digital platform in Australia. She will report to Smith.

With more than 10 years’ fashion media experience Caratti has a strong editorial and commercial approach to publishing with a sophisticated eye and modern take on fashion, culture and lifestyle.

She joins Buro247.com.au following15 months in London and Paris working as a freelance stylist and fashion writer. Prior to her time overseas Caratti was the style editor at Vogue Australia where she remained a contributor to Vogue Australia and Miss Vogue; and before that, market editor for Harper’s Bazaar.

Nick Smith said: “Rebecca is highly respected in the industry with a strong fashion background. I’m delighted that she will be bringing the brand to life in Australia leading the original Australian content while leveraging the global resources of Buro 24/7. She has a clear direction for Buro 24/7 Australia that will resonate with a younger, urbane audience, the drivers of what we call ‘new luxury’ in Australia.”

Caratti will be supported by Yeong Sassall in the role of commercial editor. Sassall was previously senior lifestyle producer at NewsLifeMedia creating editorial content for GQ.com.au and bodyandsoul.com.au and driving network referral across the company’s digital brands. Prior to this Sassall was a freelance fashion, entertainment, lifestyle and health writer contributing to Daily Life and Harper’s Bazaar online; and before that, features writer for Cosmopolitan.

Buro 24/7 Australia will officially launch in April when its founder Miroslava Duma travels to Australia for Australian Fashion Week for the official launch of the site and to meet with key advertisers for the brand.

The launch of Buro 24/7 Australia has attracted major sponsorship from luxury jeweler Tiffany & Co. and Destination NSW.

“I couldn’t be happier with the traction of both Mira and the brand Buro 24/7 with NewsLifeMedia’s valued advertisers. With the triumvirate of Vogue.com.auGQ.com.au and Buro247.com.au we now provide an unmatchable prestige digital portfolio for luxury and premium lifestyle advertisers.”

Miroslava Duma said: “Rebecca and Yeong are fantastic appointments and I have the utmost confidence in them leading the Buro 24/7 brand editorially in Australia. Combined with our dedicated team in Russia we will be providing 24/7 access to the world of contemporary culture through an Australian lens. I’m excited to be coming to Sydney in April for the launch of Buro247.com.au and working even more closely with the Australian team.”

One of the fastest growing lifestyle sites in the world, Buro 24/7 is a culture, lifestyle and fashion digital news bureau. It was born from the distinctive style, opinion and reportage of digital media powerhouse Miroslava Duma. Beginning in 2011 as a small start-up, it is now taking the world by storm and currently operates in six regions including Russia, Central Eastern Europe, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and the Middle East.
