News Corp’s Herald Sun Unveils New-look Website

The Herald Sun has unveiled a bold new look for its website designed to give readers greater viewability and a more personalised experience.

The reimagined heraldsun.com.au has been designed to work seamlessly across all devices. It provides a rich digital user experience by improving content discovery, localisation and personalisation, and, importantly, increasing viewability.

News DNA managing director Julian Delany said the new site is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to ensuring our customers value and enjoy consuming the news they want, delivered by a trusted and iconic Victorian brand.

“At the heart of this reimagined site are the consumers of heraldsun.com.au – everything that can be seen has been through rigorous consumer testing and design,” he said.

“Our goal was to make the incredible content that originates from the Herald Sun’s editorial team come to life. We believe we’ve delivered on this objective as a result of the change.”

Mr Delany noted that the new site offered new commercial opportunities and a refined sales experience, with guaranteed viewable inventory significantly increased and some placements delivering up to 90 per cent viewability.

“We are using our powerful data capabilities to maximise advertiser return, and we’ve enhanced our native content product using our market-leading Native in Colour solution,” he said.

“We have also enabled the full site-wide buyout opportunities through our Eclipse product, which has proved extremely popular with advertisers on our News DNA sites.”

Site improvements followed a comprehensive on-site survey and feedback sessions with heraldsun.com.au readers.

Importantly for users, the new heraldsun.com.au is faster to load and includes new personalisation and localisation features which allow consumers to select their preferred region for local news content by entering their postcode – with stories from their nearest Leader Newspapers title.

Herald Sun editor Damon Johnston said: “The new website features a bold and modern new look, but most importantly, our commitment to agenda-setting, exclusive and breaking news journalism remains at the heart of what we do.

“The look of the site has changed, but our passion and dedication to advocate for our readers and a better Victoria has not.”

The all-new heraldsun.com.au follows the recent dailytelegraph.com.au transformation, The Courier-Mail, The Advertiser in Adelaide and regional newspapers are next in line for a refresh.
