Nestlé Announces Media Agency Review

Nestlé Oceania has announced it is reviewing media agencies in Australia and New Zealand for the company’s portfolio of brands.

Nestlé is one of the world’s largest food and beverage company, with iconic brands including KitKat, Allen’s, Nescafé, Milo, Maggi, Uncle Tobys, Nespresso, and Purina.

GroupM’s MEC (now known as Wavemaker) won Nestlé’s Australian account in 2014, while MediaCom claimed the New Zealand business.

Therese Kallie, director of communications and marketing services at Nestlé Oceania, said the review does not reflect on the “excellent” work done by the current agencies.

“The rate of change and disruption is unprecedented, and in this ever-evolving media landscape, we believe we should periodically re-examine how we manage our media investment choices and requirements such as strategy, planning and buying,” she said.

“We need to ensure Nestlé Oceania is well positioned for now and in the future.”

Nestlé has invited a number of its aligned agencies to submit credentials, including the incumbents. The successful agency will be appointed in June.
