Monday TV Wrap: House Rules Has Its Best Night & Hammers Home Win For Seven

Seven’s struggling House Rules appears to be no longer struggling after it had its best night of the year last night.

The home reno show went over the 800,000 mark for the first time this season, albeit by the slimmest of margins (801,000) and in doing so handed Seven a Monday night win.

Seven pulled in 29.4 per cent to Nine’s 24 per cent. MasterChef (895,000) helped Ten to 21.4 per cent, the ABC had 18.6 per cent and SBS pulled 6.5 per cent.

Seven’s 6pm news bulletin was the most watched show of the night with 1.12 million and saw off rival Nine’s news that managed 1.04 million.

Seven’s The Mentor continues to splutter along with 419,000 viewers and Nine’s Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation hasn’t found its feet, managing 595,000.

MasterChef led a stellar night for Ten, with Have You Been Paying Attention? pulling 816,000 and The Project having one of its better nights, managing 610,000.

The ABC’s Monday night of current affairs saw Four Corners (769,000) pip the 7pm news bulletin (754,000) as Aunty’s top performer. 7.30 managed 683,000, Media Watch had 605,000 and Q&A did 405,000. Over at the SBS, its best was Elizabeth with 246,000.
