Monday TV Wrap: Bride & Prejudice Rings Seven’s Ratings Bell

Monday can often prove an interesting look at Australia’s TV viewing tastes as the free-to-airs pit their entertainment shows against the ABC’s strong night of current affairs.

So, what can be had from last night’s results? Well, it has to be said Seven’s Bride & Prejudice (629,000) appears to be finding its feet and was the most watched entertainment show of the night.

Nine’s struggling Family Food Fight (401,000) needs to cook-up something and fast.

Have You Been Paying Attention? was 10’s pick with 623,000.

While Seven may have found a winner in God Friended Me. The American comedy-drama pulling 528,000 despite a 9pm start time.

Still, the top six shows for Monday night were all news or current affairs.

Seven took bragging rights with 30.5 per cent of the audience share. Nine had 23.8 per cent, while the ABC took third with 19.7 per cent. 10 had to settle for fourth and 18.1 per cent and SBS took home 7.9 per cent.

Seven’s 6pm news was the most watched show of the night with 942,000. Today Tonight had 922,000, Home And Away had 620,000 and The Chase 325,000.

Nine’s 6pm news had 851,000, ACA pulled 698,000 and Hot Seat had 437,000.

Ten’s other highlights were The Project with 442,000, 10 News First with 392,000, Blind Date with 320,000 and Pointless with 267,000.

The ABC’s night ran thus: 7pm news (634,000), 7.30 (624,000), Four Corners (590,000),  Australian Story (586,000), Media Watch (521,000), Doctor Who (306,000) and Q&A (293,000).

SBS’s best was Britain’s Most Historic Towns which managed 278,000.
