MillionaireAsia Magazine To Launch Local Version To Australia’s Mega Rich

Who says print is dead? With news today that a version of MillionaireAsia magazine – the title for ludicrously rich people – will launch a local Australian version for our ludicrously rich.

Fairfax Media is today reporting that local businessman Frank Cannavo has bought the rights to the tile and plans to publish a quarterly version in Australia and New Zealand.

The title started in Singapore a decade ago and now goes out free to a database of over 140,000 millionaires stretching across Asia to Russia and parts of Europe. However, it doesn’t go out to any old would-be millionaire, instead there is a strict criteria that each subscriber have at least $US3 million in the bank (that’s well over four-mill Aussie).

It’s publisher – Mr Brain Yim – told Fairfax that MillionaireAsia is more than just a glossy mag for the rich.

MillionaireAsia is not just about print,” Yim told Fairfax. “We are looking at people that can make deals, create opportunities to bring projects to high net worth individuals and to connect people to capital, which is what we are all about.

“We are quite excited about helping … perhaps mining companies in Australia look for capital in Asia – acting like a bridge to Asia.

“It’s about connecting with the network that we have built over the last 10 years”.

It is estimated that local Australian and New Zealand version will have about 80,000 subscribers and a readership of between 140,000-160,000.

The title is expected to launch in Australia in October/November with a New Zealand launch in 2016.
