Michelle Guthrie Set To Take The Reins As New ABC Managing Director

Google exec Michelle Guthrie has reportedly been given the top job at the ABC.

Reports in The Sydney Morning Herald and the Australian Financial Review say Guthrie will succeed managing director Mark Scott, who announced his stepping down from the role in September this year.

There’s been much speculation in the industry as to who the top job would be given, with a report this morning former News Corp boss Kim Williams and SBS managing director Michael Ebeid were now out of the running.

The ABC declined to comment other than the process was still underway and the board would make an announcement in due course.
