Australian Radio Network (ARN) has announced the breakfast line up for rebranded Melbourne station KIIS 101.1. Matt Tilley and Jane Hall will step into the time slot from January 2015.

ARN content director Duncan Campbell said KIIS 101.1 is going to be a genuinely fresh new station for Melbourne audiences. He said: “KIIS 101.1 will be a new station built specifically for Melbourne listeners with an exciting new breakfast show hosted by Matt and Jane. They will make for a dynamic and entertaining combination with a passion for the city set against the backdrop of a new energetic station”

A well-known face on Australian television screens, with acting roles on All Together Now, A Country Practice, and Neighbours, Jane Hall joined ARN in 2012.

“I love waking up with Melbourne every morning and I’m honoured and incredibly excited to be a part of this brand new station created especially for our city. We all know it’s the best place in Australia to live and work, and we can’t wait to show Melbourne what Matt and I have in store in 2015,” said Hall.

Matt Tilley joins ARN, making a much awaited return to the coveted breakfast slot after hosting drive for a year.

Tilley has found unprecedented success in almost every radio time slot since – from an award-winning late night shift, to co-hosting  breakfast for 16 years on Fox FM where he was consistently the number one FM breakfast in Melbourne, through to this year co-hosting a successful national drive show.

“We’re excited at having a host of Matt’s calibre headlining Breakfast and, along with Jane, bringing a brand new experience to Melbourne Breakfast radio on a new and energised station,” said Campbell.

Chrissie Swan, who has presented breakfast on Mix101.1 with Jane since 2012, will be leaving ARN. Swan has been a valued member of the team at Mix101.1 and ARN, where her bright personality and infectious humour has endeared her to audiences.

ARN chief executive Ciaran Davis said: “The proven strength and audience connection of Hughesy & Kate in Drive, combined with the fresh new on-air breakfast team of Matt Tilley and Jane Hall, puts KIIS 101.1 in a powerful position to shake things up in Melbourne from January next year.

“KIIS 101.1 is going to bring a new dimension to the market in Melbourne, and I am excited that ARN will build on offering Melbourne audiences a unique brand of entertainment and advertisers across the country the most compelling sales and integration offering.

“I’m confident that fans of Mix101.1 will enjoy the new direction of KIIS 101.1, and this rebrand is another example of our proven strategy for growth.”
