MediaWorks Appoints Glen Kyne As Chief Commercial Officer

New Zealand-based broadcaster MediaWorks has announced the appointment of Glen Kyne as its chief commercial officer, formalising his current position as acting CCO.

Kyne will oversee a 160-strong team and be responsible for managing the commercial operations across MediaWorks’ TV, radio and digital platforms and brands, including pricing, inventory, a nationwide customer engagement program and revenue management.

He has more than 20 years of sales and management experience, having worked as MediaWorks’ chief new ventures officer and director integrated content, as well as being the head of integration at New Zealand’s The Radio Network.

Before joining the media industry, Kyne worked at Optus as the national sales manager for direct sales and as the enterprise sales manager for finance, banking and insurance. He was also previously the chief operating officer at Sagacious Procurement.

MediaWorks group CEO Michael Anderson said Kyne brings a wealth of experience to the CCO role from both within MediaWorks and externally across a wide range of commercial projects and operations.

“I have no doubt he’ll continue his outstanding work and I am looking forward to working closely with him to further strengthen our position in the market,” he said.

Kyne said he was very excited to accept the role.

“We have an amazing asset base at MediaWorks and a highly respected team,” he said.

“I look forward to further developing both and helping deliver outstanding results for our customers.”
