The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras (SGLMG) has appointed Holler as its digital creative consultants following the agency’s ‘Rainbow Code’ project.

The Sydney-based digital agency has been brought on board to build revenue opportunities and boost engagement with the Mardi Gras brand.

Building international understanding of the SGLMG is a key task for Holler.

Mike Hill, Holler’s co-CEO, said: “Mardi Gras have an incredible brand locally and internationally. The exciting part of this engagement for me is Holler’s remit to focus on solving core business challenges, not just creative campaigns.”

The appointment comes as a result of Holler’s ‘Rainbow Code’ project which set out to create a virtual rainbow crossing the web by lining together websites that support equal rights for gay and lesbian couples. For more on the ‘Rainbow Code’ click here.

The project was a response to the DIY rainbow crossing protest which erupted in Sydney after this year’s Mardi Gras.

The  movement occurred after a temporary rainbow pedestrian crossing was removed from Sydney’s Oxford Street following the 35th Mardi Gras celebrations.

On Holler’s appointment SGLMG’s festival producer and senior marketer, James Rongen-Hall, said: “As a fellow creative organisation, Holler have an innate understanding of our values and our aspirations for Mardi Gras. We’re genuinely excited to be working together to develop Mardi Gras to it’s full potential as a global beacon of LGBTQI pride, and I have no doubt that Holler’s expertise will be a huge asset for our organisation well into the future.”
