Malaysia Airlines has appointed iD Collective as its communications and public relations agency for its key regional Australia and New Zealand markets.

The appointment which came after a competitive pitch, takes effect from 1 December 2018 and will see iD work closely with Malaysia’s national carrier to continue rebuilding its public profile amongst Australian and New Zealand travellers, and increase its share of the competitive international airline market.

iD Collective Director, Mary Morton said, “Malaysia Airlines is one of the world’s most recognisable travel brands and we are really excited at the prospect of embarking on this new journey with it.

“Given our passion for marketing Malaysia over many years, the partnership seems like a natural fit and we’re really looking forward to working with Malaysia Airlines to evolve and amplify its brand in Australia and New Zealand.”

The recent win also showcases the agency’s experience in the travel sector, with a stellar portfolio that now includes luxury travel operator Abercrombie & Kent, Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts, STA Travel, Pan Pacific Hotels Group, PARKROYAL Hotels and Resorts, Ecruising and Latitude 33.
