Watch: Junkee Media Sent Drag Queen Courtney Act To A Trump Rally

In the Junkee Media upfronts last year, one of the standout announcements for B&T was the news that they would be sending drag queen and all-round legend Courtney Act to America to follow the campaign trail, and get all the juicy goss on things like what Trump’s followers really think.

And now we’ve got our first glimpse at what that journey looks like, as Junkee’s official ‘Foreign Correspondent’ got up close and personal with people at a Trump rally.

“My whole goal of going to the rally was to understand people. I didn’t want to belittle or mock them. I really wanted to have conversations and listen in the hope that we could find some common ground,” Act wrote on Junkee, which you can read in full here.

“Not one of them made any sense — and I don’t just mean their views didn’t align with mine,” she said.

“It was their use of the English language [that] didn’t make sense. None of them spoke in complete sentences or seemed to listen, comprehend or properly respond to what I was saying.”

You can watch the whole thing here:

It comes just a couple of months after oOH! Media bought the majority of Junkee Media for $11.05 million. The 85 per cent acquisition aims to diversify oOh!Media’s offering and digital strategy to increase consumer engagement and advertiser ROI.

The remaining 15 per cent is with the three Junkee Media shareholders, however oOh!Media has the right to acquire the remaining shares.
