What’s one thing not many know about you?
When I was 13 I went around the world on my own to visit my relatives in various countries and one crazy uncle in Newfoundland made an offer to my widowed mother to buy me!
What’s your quirkiest attribute?
That I carry a crystal in my pocket every day, I don’t think its quirky, but most people do!
What’s your backstory? (The non-LinkedIn one)
Born and bred on the beach in Manly, and 41 years later I’m still in Manly and I’m still working in advertising. I got my start when I walked into DDB Needham in 1992 as boy “Friday” where I worked for free every Friday until I got my first full time role.
If you weren’t doing this job, what would you be doing?
Surf guide around the islands of Indonesia.
What’s your proudest career moment to date?
Retaining the Commonwealth Bank account for the second time in 2014
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Hopefully still involved in the media world and doing surf trips with my two boys.
What’s been your most challenging career moment?
Working through sudden and significant management changes a few years back at Ikon.
What would you change about the industry?
The level of honesty
What’s piece of advice you’d give your younger self?
Your opinion is just as valid as any other person in the room.
If you could be Prime Minister for a week, what would you do?
Hide, because that is my worst nightmare.
