Ita Buttrose Exited Studio 10 Over Royal Wedding Coverage Dispute

Having abruptly quit her gig as co-host for Studio 10 two weeks ago, Ita Buttrose is again making headlines thanks to a segment on Seven’s The Morning Show.

Buttrose appeared on Ten’s Studio 10 rival to discuss the upcoming royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The appearance follows ongoing rumours Buttrose left Studio 10 as producers refused to send her to cover the wedding, despite covering them for the last three decades.

Instead of Buttrose, Lisa Wilkinson and Angela Bishop will be leading the coverage for Channel 10.

At the end of Buttrose’s segment The Morning Show appearance, host Larry Emdur said, “Ita, it’s great to see you. We haven’t seen you for a few years,” Emdur said at the end of the segment.”

“It’s great to have you’ve made you’re way back to The Morning Show.”

It is not clear whether Buttrose will be sent to cover the wedding for The Morning Show, however, the show’s producer hinted that may be the case.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, The Morning Show’s executive producer Sarah Stinson she was “thrilled” to have Buttrose on board.

“When it comes to royal wedding coverage, Ita is undisputedly the queen. She’s covered them all since Charles and Diana, so we invited her on to share some insights as we countdown to Harry and Meghan,” Stinson said.

B&T has contacted Channel Ten for comment.
