Infographic: Why Aussie Adland Salaries Are On The Up & Up!

Is your tight boss being stingy with the pay rises? Haven’t had an increase in well over a year? Starting to look “elsewhere”? Well, according to new data released by the recruitment firm Hays, you could well be in the minority.

According to Hays’ new salary data, IT jobs aside, Australia’s advertising and media industries is the one occupation anticipating a fatter pay cheque, and soonish.

Some 42 per cent of people surveyed by Hays that work in adland said they expected an above inflation pay increase of three per cent or more at their next salary review.

Check out the Hay’s findings in the infographic below.

Commenting on the findings, Hays ANZ MD, Nick Deligiannis, said: “It seems the time honoured supply and demand principle has also failed to impact salaries in all bar a few instances.

“Yet Australia’s strengthening economy, rising business activity, growing headcounts and skill shortages cannot be overlooked for too long.

“The piercing question therefore is how high will turnover reach before typical salary increases climb above three per cent?” Deligiannis said.
