Ikon Brisbane Wins Tourism & Events Queensland’s Media

Ikon Brisbane has been appointed as the strategic media planning agency for Tourism & Events Queensland (TEQ).  The win follows a competitive process conducted at the end of 2017 involving a range of other Queensland-based agencies.

Tasked with contemporising TEQ’s overall media approach, Ikon will also assist the organisation to better promote the breadth of experiences on offer for travellers in Queensland.

Ikon Brisbane agency director Shelley Cook (main photo) said the fully integrated communication strategy developed by the agency was central to the win.

“Our approach was a consumer-centric, data-driven and relevant strategy, applicable across all stages of the travel purchase journey.  It’s all about smarter ways to ensure high-value Aussie travelers see the content that aligns with their individual interests and unique travel behaviours,” she explained.

“We’re thrilled that this approach completely aligned with TEQ’s requirements, and the entire team can’t wait to get started.”

TEQ Group Executive Global Marketing Michael Branagh said Ikon would help ensure Queensland remained front of mind as Australia’s premier tourism and events destination.

“We’re excited to work with Ikon on what is an extremely important aspect of what we do at TEQ and we look forward to seeing the results of their innovative communication strategy,” he said.

“We aim to inspire the world to experience the best address of Earth and Ikon will now be a key part in helping us continue to achieve that goal.”

The appointment is effective from 1st February with responsibility for both Australia and New Zealand markets.

Ikon Brisbane is part of WPP AUNZ, Australasia’s leading marketing communications group.
