Howzat! Shane Warne Set To Be Ten’s Next Bachelor!

Notorious pants man and legendary wristie Shane Warne is being touted as a possible bachelor for next year’s series of Ten’s The Bachelor.

What could possibly be the greatest car-crash event in the history of Australian TV, veritable woman’s organ New Idea claims Ten executives are prepared to chuck $1 million at Warnie to front the 2018 series of the high-rating dating show.

According to the article, Warne, 48, – a divorced father of three – is “ironing out the finer details” of the contract with Ten.

And why wouldn’t Ten try the stunt, particularly after the phenomenal success of Sophie Monk’s recent appearance in The Bachelorette?

According to an “insider” quoted in New Idea: “Whatever he [Warne] does always ends up in the media so he figures why not give it a shot.

“He is the first to admit he doesn’t always make the best choices with women, so why not get a bit of help along the way?

“Sophie’s season has done wonders for the network and they are desperate to keep viewers interested,. And Warnie is Australia’s ultimate Bachelor, isn’t he?” the source said.

Securing Warne would undoubtedly be a coup for Ten who has had a disastrous 2017 that’s  included going into receivership.

The other question remains – where’s all the cash coming from? For a broadcaster currently being managed by liquidators it seems to be flushed with cash. Firstly, Nine’s Lisa Wilkinson jumping ship for a reported $2.3 million a year and now a swag of cash for Warnie for a program that runs little more than two months.

However, even B&T has to admit, the sight of Warnie in a spa with three bachelorettes would be unmissable television!
