House Rules Rules Sunday With Winner Reveal

The hammers and paint brushes were put down for the final time this year on Seven’s House Rules sets as the renovation program revealed its 2014 winners last night.

The winner announced episode of House Rules saw 1.988 million people watch contestants Lisa Lamond and Adam Dovile take home the grand prize of a mortgage-free, renovated home.

The preliminary metro ratings result is up on last year’s 1.873 million overnight figures. The debut of this year’s House Rules also beat 2013’s with 1.183 million viewers and 803,000 respectively.

Seven said last night’s announcement pulled in 3.121 million viewers when regional viewers are added to the mix. With the addition of regional viewers the grand final episode is bumped up to 2.748 million, according to Seven. OzTam’s overnight metro ratings show the Grand Final episode had 1.730 million.

House Rules proved to be most popular in the winning couple’s city of Melbourne.

House Rules pushed Seven to a 37.9% share of all free-to-air viewers with 30.3% for the network’s primary channel.

The renovation competition boosted Seven across the board with Seven News pulling in 1.324 million compared to Nine News’ 1.255 million.

Seven’s Sunday Night which focused on the Oscar Pistorius trial pulled in 1.289 million viewers compared to the 999,000 people who watched 60 Minutes.

The Voice Kids was Nine’s most watched show, sitting in fifth place with 1.255 million viewers.
Fellow reality hopeful MasterChef Australia sat just below the million mark, bringing in 909,000 viewers for Ten.

Nine’s combined share of all FTA viewers was 25.1% with 19.6% for the network’s primary channel.

Ten was in third place on a total 17.9% with 12.8% for its main channel.

The ABC followed in third place on a combined 13.8% with 10.5% of that going to ABC1.

SBS was in fourth place on a total 5.3% with 4.7% for SBS ONE.
