The Hit Network Chooses Comedian Tanya Hennessy To Host Weekend Breakfast

Southern Cross Austereo’s Hit Network has announced that rising radio star and comedian Tanya Hennessy will take over hosting duties for its weekend breakfast slot in 2018.

Hennessy will bring content to the airwaves each Saturday and Sunday morning from 7am to 9am with a regular rotation of guest co-hosts.

The self-described talker, not walker has been a part of the Hit family for six years, starting out in Griffith and more recently as co-host of the Ryan and Tanya show on Canberra’s hit104.7 weekday breakfast slot and for Saturday breakfast on 2DayFM Sydney.

Gemma Fordham, head of content at The Hit Network, said: “Tanya never shies away from having a laugh at herself, and has a relatable and refreshing approach to life. We can’t wait for Australia to wake up with Tanya and kick-start each weekend the right way.”

Commenting on her new gig, Hennessy said: “It’s been my dream to do a national radio show. I’m seriously pumped and grateful for the opportunity.

“The only thing I’m worried about is that the metro shows are filmed, so I may have to put some effort into my appearance… jokes! Expect a non-supportive bra, no make-up and a messy bun with pastry in it. But seriously, I’m stoked.”
