Harvey Norman Hits a Six As Naming Rights Sponsor For Summer Cricket

Harvey Norman has become exclusive naming rights sponsor of its 2014/15 summer cricket broadcast.

The Harvey Norman cricket broadcast partnership will include broadcast integration, cross platform marketing, on air credits, commercials and print ads with naming rights in The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age.

The cricket will be broadcast on Fairfax Radio Network’s News Talk stations 2UE, 3AW, 4BC and 6PR as well as new digital radio station, Fairfax NTS (News Talk Sport).

Fairfax Radio Network has a five year broadcast rights agreement for the Australian cricket seasons that deliver the most comprehensive radio broadcast coverage of live cricket in Australia.

“Fairfax Radio Network’s cricket audience of more than 1.3 million people is a great fit for Harvey Norman,” Harvey Norman Executive Director David Ackery said. “Australians are passionate about their cricket and after such a great season of cricket last summer, we expect everyone to get behind our team this summer and be avid listeners of Fairfax Radio’s great commentator line-up. Harvey Norman is pleased to be part of Australian cricket.”

Fairfax Radio Network National Sales Director Nick Randall said: “Our cricket coverage will be even bigger and better this season, with new additions to our expert commentary team who provide the best live calls and insights which makes our network a true cricket destination. We are delighted to welcome Harvey Norman as our cricket naming rights sponsor with a unique integrated partnership across Fairfax’s suite of assets. We are looking forward to another successful summer of cricket coverage.”

Year two of this landmark five year broadcast deal will see Fairfax Radio Network broadcast the four Test matches (Australia vs India), all One Day Internationals, Big Bash League (BBL) and International T20 matches, providing sports fans unprecedented access to live cricket.  Fairfax Radio Network will have the most comprehensive live coverage on radio, broadcasting all four cricket competitions.

For the summer ahead, Australia will be aiming to improve its Number 2 mantle on Test cricket, and begin its preparations for the Cricket World Cup in 2015. Australia will play India for the Border-Gavaskar trophy in a four test series. South Africa play in the T20 and then England and South Africa and India take on Australia in the One Day Internationals.

The Network’s cricket coverage will begin with the Australia vs South Africa International T20 match on 5th November 2014.
