GroupM Hands Reins To Rising Stars

Media agency GroupM is empowering the next generation of industry superstars with a say in how to run the company through the creation of NCo.

Consisting of 15 of the brightest employees aged under 30 from across all GroupM companies, the NCo committee will meet regularly and make recommendations to Chairman & CEO John Steedman and GroupM management on critical issues surrounding company culture, staff development and strategies for empowering and retaining younger employees.

“This is an incredibly important group of extraordinarily talented individuals who will be able to bring fresh thinking and actionable ideas to ensure our agencies and group business are seen as leading in every aspect of the communications business,” Steedman said.

“We have a lot of young smart thinkers at GroupM and I believe we will benefit as a group from implementing their fresh thinking into the way we run the company and in helping to identify areas of future innovation. The added benefit of this initiative is the empowerment it gives our youngest employees through having a voice in the issues that are most important to us as a company.”

Each NCo member is nominated by their agency and must have a minimum two years’ service and be a top performer among their peers. Mediacom will contribute five NCo members, with three from Mindshare, two from MEC and Maxus plus one each from Agency M, Xaxis, and Play.

The NCo members from each of the agencies are:

  • Mediacom – James Wainwright, Rachel Mackenzie, Tom Robinson, Shelby Craig, Andrew Da Silva
  • Mindshare – Joshua Greive, Sarah Jenkins, Madeline Arnold
  • MEC – Allister Hercus, Lauren Turner
  • Maxus – Lachlan Sweet, Peta Southcombe
  • Xaxis – Kathryn McIntosh
  • Agency M – Jay Chong
  • Play – Francesca Lanham
