Girlfriend Magazine Announces New National Partnership

Girlfriend, Australia’s number one teen girl’s magazine, has announced it will partner with Priceline Pharmacy to deliver the 2015 Girlfriend Model Search.

Now in its 25th year, Girlfriend, together with principal sponsor, Priceline Pharmacy and CHIC management, will tour the nation over the coming months to discover healthy, confident girls with a unique look to become the next international modelling sensation.

Former Girlfriend Model Search finalist, Samantha Harris will join an esteemed judging panel, including industry powerhouses: Girlfriend editor Sarah Tarca, Chic Management managing director Ursula Hufnagl and Priceline Pharmacy marketing manager Allana May.

Over the past 25 years, the Girlfriend Model Search has launched the careers of a number of international faces, including: Samantha Harris, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Catherine McNeil, Alyssa Sutherland, Maddison Brown, Pania Rose, and Ruby Rose.

Sarah Tarca, editor of Girlfriend, comments: “We’re thrilled to partner with Priceline Pharmacy for the 25th annual Girlfriend Model Search.

“This year’s campaign will undoubtedly be the nation’s biggest and best model search. Priceline Pharmacy is the number one beauty destination for every teen girl, so this partnership with Australia’s leading health and beauty retailer is a natural fit, which is so exciting for the Girlfriend brand and our audience.

“Together we listen to young Australian women as we aim to empower our audience to live well and feel great.”

Mark O’Keefe, Priceline Pharmacy’s general manager of marketing said: “As a health and beauty destination that is trusted by women of all ages, it is only natural that Priceline Pharmacy partners with Girlfriend to engage even more deeply with our teenage customers. Girlfriend has a unique connection with their readers and social media followers and we are excited to work with them on this iconic competition.

“Through the partnership we will amplify our message of healthy beauty: the idea that if you feel good on the inside, you will feel beautiful on the outside.

“We look forward to meeting and rewarding our customers through the makeovers and giveaways that will form part of the theatre of the national roadshows; and at the end of it all, featuring the winner of this iconic competition in Priceline Pharmacy brand campaigns over the next 12 months.”

The 2015 Girlfriend Model Search winner will receive a cash prize of $5,000 and for the first time, a $5,000 cash prize will also be awarded to the scout who nominated the overall winner. In addition, the winner will receive a two-year contract with CHIC Management, a trip to New York or London, appearances in Girlfriend and $1,000 prize pack from Priceline Pharmacy.

The six-month campaign will include a significant social media schedule across Girlfriend’s social media assets of over 850,000 fans, spanning from dedicated memes, how-to videos, a national #FOMO promotion, and a bespoke Spotify playlist. A Girlfriend virtual photobooth, operated via Viewa will also be an exciting new adage to the 2015 campaign.
