French Fashion Mag L’Officiel Hires New Editor-In-Chief

CEO and Publisher Dimitri Vorontsov of French fashion magazine L’Officiel has appointed Damien Woolnough as the new editor-in-chief of L’Officiel Australia.

Vorontsov said: “Damien’s wealth of experience covers luxury across fashion, design, art and travel. These are all key pillars of this international brand. His respected understanding of luxury in the Australian market is an asset to L’Officiel. We are thrilled to welcome Damien as our new editor-in-chief as we continue to grow across print and digital in 2016.”

Woolnough has forged a more than 20-year career in magazines, newspapers and digital, having worked at Vogue Australia as the first editor of vogue.com.au and as fashion editor of The Australian newspaper. He has also worked for In Style and Harper’s Bazaar. Woolnough will leave his role at ELLE Australia where he has been deputy editor since the title’s launch in 2013.

Woolnough said: “I am thrilled to be joining the team at L’Officiel Australia. This prestigious brand with nearly 100 years of heritage occupies a position of style and strength when it comes to fashion through the filter of true luxury. There is a discerning local audience out there hungry for this point of view and I look forward to helping deliver the message of living a more fashionable and fantastic life.”

Woolnough will commence at L’Officiel Australia on November 17, 2015 and will be based in Sydney and Melbourne. Vorontsov, who has fulfilled the position of editor-in-chief since the magazine’s launch in January 2015, will focus on his role as CEO and Publisher of L’Officiel Australia and New Zealand.
