The CEO of the television industry’s peak body Free TV has quit after just four months in the role.

Brett Savill (pictured above) has decided to leave after determining he wasn’t the right man for the job.

“I have formed the view that the role is not the right fit for me and I believe it is the right thing to do to step aside now so that Free TV can pursue its agenda under a new leader,” Savill said in statement.

Harold Mitchell, chairman of Free TV, said he was disappointed Savill was not the right person for Free TV and that the appointment had not worked out.

“On behalf of all of the broadcasters I thank Brett for his contribution and wish him all the best for the future,” Mitchell said.
