News Corp is reporting that David Eccleston has been demoted from supervising producer on Weekend Sunrise to news promo producer after he abused colleague Madeleine Kennard, who also happens to be Eccleston’s ex-partner, too.

It follows the latest revelation from the ongoing Worner affair with ex-staffer and Worner’s former mistress Amber Harrison now threatening to sue the network for breach of contract.

The Daily Telegraph has labelled Eccleston as a”notoriously polarising employee” and allegedly said to Kennard he would “wrap a microphone chord around your neck and choke you with it”.

Other staffers immediately reported Eccleston’s action and bosses had him removed from the program.

It’s understood that Eccleston’s action could have resulted in his termination, however, News has reported that Kennard didn’t file a complaint about her ex-partner as the two still share custody of a pet dog following their break-up.

Kennard was given a lifeline and now works in the newsroom, a section of the Seven offices that staffers refer to as the “naughty corner”.
