Channel Seven has avoided another ugly public spat with with a former employee after it settled out of court with former Adelaide TV reporter Amy Taeuber, who claimed she had been falsely dismissed.

Taeuber – one of three identical triplets woking at the station – claimed she was sacked in July last year after lodging a complaint to the network that Today Tonight journalist Rodney Lohse had called her a “lesbian”.

It’s believed Taeuber wanted as much as $300,000 for the wrongful dismissal, however, her final payout has not been made public.

It follows the ongoing drama between Seven CEO Tim Worner and his former mistress and Seven employee Amber Harrison who is reportedly chasing as much as $2 million in termination pay.

According to news reports on Adelaide’s The Advertiser, Taeuber alleged the network used staff to “dig up dirt” on her, including trawling her social media accounts, following her allegations against Lohse.

Last year, Taeuber took Seven to the Federal Circuit Court and the Fair Work Commission before a judge ordered them back into private mediation and both parties agreed to settle their dispute.

The final outcome remains confidential and its unclear if Seven will have to meet Taeuber’s legal costs. A Seven spokesperson has called the payout “amicable”. Taeuber has reportedly since moved to a gig at a commercial radio station.
