Former 2Day FM Staffer Slams Em Rusciano For Creating “Toxic Work Environment”

The movement to oust embattled 2Day FM brekkie host Em Rusciano appears to be gathering steam, with an ex-staffer of the station spilling the beans on what its like to work with her.

The anonymous staffer who worked closely with Rusciano claims the host isn’t well-liked at the station and “makes it a toxic work environment”.

“She seems really insecure. She portrays this really confident, ‘I think I’m the greatest!’ image, but I think it stems from a really deep-seeded insecurity, which is really sad,” the former staffer told news.com.au.

“She just doesn’t know how to interact with people. She won’t compromise with anybody. She’s always has to be right.”

B&T has contacted Southern Cross Austereo for comment regarding the latest claims about Rusciano, after The Daily Telegraph reported that a number of staff who work on the 2Day FM brekkie show were calling it quits due to a poor work environment, with some declining to work alongside the host.

The Daily Telegraph also reported that one of the show’s co-hosts, Ed Kavalee, didn’t speak with Rusciano between breaks during yesterday’s program.

Meanwhile, B&T reported yesterday that Ash London is rumoured to have already been chosen to replace Rusciano, which SCA refused to confirm or deny.

This all comes after Rusciano’s expletive-laden rant on Will Anderson’s podcast, where she called Sydney media “c$#*s”, accused 2Day FM’s executives of “injecting two people” into “my show”, and admitted she was heading towards “some sort of implosion in the next six months”.

“I, all of a sudden, got two co-hosts that I’d never really met or spoken to, and then I’m expected to have this instant chemistry with,” Rusciano told Anderson.

“And it was just hectic. And it was The Em Rusciano Radio Show. It was my show, and all of a sudden Ed’s anchoring.”

However, Anderson has come to the defence of Rusciano’s controversial comments on his podcast, tweeting yesterday that the host was “nothing but complimentary about the people she works with, and off-air even more so”.

Earlier this month, Rusciano’s former co-host, Harley Breen, addressed rumours of them having a rocky relationship, admitting he hasn’t kept in touch with his former co-host, and didn’t make a point of spending a lot of time talking to her off-air when they were working together.
