Spoof Mark Latham Twitter Account Comes Back To Life After Sacking

A Twitter account reporting to be that of Mark Latham, but widely believed to be fake, has suddenly become active again after its namesake was sacked from his Sky News presenting job yesterday.

The account called “The Real Mark Latham” is widely regarded as the work of an unknown satirist and hasn’t been active since 2015 when Latham quit as a columnist with The Australian Financial Review. Then, Latham fell on his own sword and left the position but only after complaints surrounding his views on feminism and social issues.

Yesterday, Sky News bosses had clearly had enough of the former Labor leader after a recent string of indiscretions that included calling a schoolboy who appeared in an International Women’s Day video “gay”.

However, “The Real Mark Latham” was quick to point out “I love gays!”

To his former Sky bosses, he had this parting note:

Deputy opposition leader, Tanya Plibersek, said the school students Latham labelled as gay were “better men than Mark Latham has ever been.” Adding, “Mark Latham should be ashamed of attacking teenagers trying to make the world a better place.” And this was the response.

While Labor leader Bill Shorten accused Latham of “sad, attention seeking behaviour by attacking other people”. This is how Real Mark Latham responded.

Even Labor ad guru Dee Madigan comes in for a serve.
