Edelman Global Chair To Open PRIA Conference

Michelle Hutton, newly appointed global chair of Edelman’s Consumer Marketing practice will open the Public Relations Institute of Australia’s (PRIA) National Conference.

After presenting the keynote speech, Hutton will head off to London to lead Edelman’s largest practice.

“Michelle is one of the best practitioners Australia has seen. It’s both an honour for Michelle and for the Australian PR industry – an Australian Fellow (FPRIA) appointed to chair a global organisation,” said PRIA national president, Mike Watson.

“Hutton understands the rapid shifts in the industry and has continued to keep Edelman ahead of the industry paradigms. Around 300 practitioners will attend the conference and we are honoured to have a local hero present an international perspective. We look forward to hearing how Michelle plans on tackling the rapidly changing environment, how she plans to operate in new spaces, and what opportunity lies ahead,’’ Watson added.

The announcement is a perfect example of the global best practice standards achieved in Australian PR. PRIA now represents more than 4,000 practitioners via members and registered consultancies.
