Dan Beaumont leaves The Monkeys to become a Royal

EXCLUSIVE: Melbourne’s independent creative digital agency The Royals is pushing further into the Sydney market with the appointment of ex-Monkey, Dan Beaumont.

The Monkeys former client services director joins The Royals’ new Surry Hills office as director.

Beaumont, who has been at The Monkeys for the past five years, said he is ready to tackle his next career challenge.

“It’s been fantastic being part of the Monkey's growth over the last few years and I’ve enjoyed every second, but the opportunity at The Royals is too good to ignore – evident by what they have achieved in such a short timeframe.

“The fit with the other partners was a natural one, there is an infectious energy about the group that’s hard not to get caught up in. I’m looking forward to joining the team and getting stuck in to it.”

Beaumont will be joined in the Sydney shop by The Royals creative director and co-founder Nick Cummins.

The Royals opened its Sydney agency at the start of the year off the back of their appointment to the Campari Group.

Beaumont and Cummins are looking to immediately expand the Sydney team.

The Royals opened up shop in Melbourne in 2008 and have grown to 22 staff.

Recent client wins include Jetstar, John West, Emporium Melbourne, George Calombaris’ MADE Group and Cricket Australia.

The Royals director Steve O’Farrell said: “The ambitious vision for the Royals when we started was to create a brilliant Regional Agency network with digital at its core. Opening Sydney was a natural next step and getting a super talent in Dan to join will accelerate that growth. Not to mention the fact that we needed a partner with a bit more hair and Dan's our man there also.”

The agency’s other clients include Coles Liquor, NAB, World Vision and Frank Health Insurance.
