Cure Cancer Australia Announces New Chairman

Cure Cancer Australia has today announced the appointment of Executive Chairman of L Catterton (LVMH) Australia, Philip Corne, as its new Chairman.

Corne replaces former Lintas and McCann Worldgroup Executive, Max Gosling, who served as Chairman of Cure Cancer Australia for the past decade.

In paying tribute, Corne said Mr Gosling’s passion and commitment to raising funds for Early-Career Cancer Researchers has contributed significantly to Cure Cancer Australia’s success and growth.

Corne said “Max has ensured that Cure Cancer Australia is a well governed, accountable and vital organisation and it has been a pleasure to work with him on the Board for the past 10 years.”

“I am looking forward to building on the strong foundation and values that Max has created for Cure Cancer Australia in its mission to find a cure for cancer by investing in Early-Career Australian Cancer Researchers.”

Gosling added: “It has been an honour to be involved with an organisation that is devoted to finding a cure for every cancer, for every Australian.

“In the past 10 years, many of the Early-Career Researchers that Cure Cancer Australia has funded have gone on to become leaders in their field. Their commitment to finding a cure for cancer is inspirational and has made a difference to the lives of so many people.

“Congratulations to Philip on his new appointment. He is a wonderful advocate for cancer research.”

Chief Executive Officer of Cure Cancer Australia, Mrs Floyd Larsen, thanked Mr Gosling for his leadership and support.

“Max has been a pleasure to work with and he leaves Cure Cancer Australia in great shape. I am looking forward to working with Philip and the Board to help make this is the last generation that actually dies from cancer,” Mrs Larsen said.
