Cosmo’s Bachelor Of The Year Comp Secures Over 21,000 Votes

Bauer’s Cosmopolitan magazine, in partnership with Tinder, achieved an impressive number of votes for its second Bachelor of the Year Award competition.

Cosmo’s Bachelor of the Year celebrates modern Australian men from all walks of life and this year has seen an incredibly diverse group of contenders.

Editor of Cosmopolitan Keshnee Kemp is excited to note this year’s Bachelor of the Year finalists have struck a chord with the modern millennial woman, seeing the support for the Award grow year on year.

“The Bachelor of the Year is all about celebrating men in Australian with different careers, passions and life stories. This year we wanted to build on the support for the Award by giving our community every opportunity to not only see this dynamic group of finalists, but also to cast their vote. The Bachelor of the Year campaign was leveraged across our print and digital assets as well as that of the broader Bauer network securing over 21,300 votes,” she said.

Thirty men are vying for the coveted title of Australia’s most eligible bachelor. The list includes reality TV stars, actors, tradies, surfers, fire fighters and some of Tinder’s most swiped, showcasing the diversity of men that appeals to modern millennial women.

This year’s finalists include: Home & Away’s Orpheus Pledger; SBS PopAsia Host Kevin Kim: ex-The Bachelorette contestants Jake Ellis, Michal Turnbull and Cam Cranley; coal miner Jace Brown, Neighbours’ Tim Kano; Rugby Sevens player Tim Anstee; and rigger Brendan Weston.

Bauer Media leveraged its 10 million network-wide Facebook fans to drive users to vote for their favourite finalists, which resulted in voter numbers doubling. The voting page – which boasted improved UX optimised for Cosmo’s mobile-first audience – was also pushed via creative executions on Instagram and Stories to Cosmo’s 113K+ followers, regular EDM send-outs, on-site content teasers over the Bauer network and dedicated content in the Bachelor of the Year section on Cosmopolitan.com.au.

The much-anticipated Cosmopolitan Bachelor of the Year Award will be announced on Thursday, 22 February at the Coogee Pavilion.
