Chivas Regal Is On The Hunt For Social Entrepreneurs For Global Venture

Swanky alcohol brand Chivas Regal has announced the Australian launch of The Venture, a global search for the most promising social entrepreneurs: those with businesses or ideas that use enterprise and innovation as a force for doing good.

For the first time Australian’s will have the opportunity to take part in the initiative, giving local social entrepreneurs the chance to take their ideas global, with a share of $1 million up for grabs.

Over the coming months, Chivas Regal is calling for Australia’s most inspirational entrepreneurs, those who work in an entrepreneurial manner, but for primarily social benefit to head to the dedicated website, www.TheVenture.com to enter the challenge.

Michael Klim, Australian Olympic swimming legend and founder of Australian owned and made skincare company, Milk & Co, is lending his support to the initiative in an effort to heighten the profile of ethical and sustainable businesses in Australia and to help spread the word to aspiring young business owners to get involved and showcase the best of Australian entrepreneurialism.

“We should be very proud of the incredibly impressive social enterprises coming out of Australia at this time. I’m really excited to see the ideas and talent an initiative like The Venture will uncover and the positive and sustainable impact this could have on our community,” said Klim.

Anne Martin, marketing director, Chivas Regal Australia, said: “Entrepreneurship and generosity sit at the heart of the Chivas brand, so supporting those who use their success to improve the lives of others is a perfect project for the brand. We are excited to be supporting the most inspiring social entrepreneurs in the country and aid their future businesses and careers.”

Helping launch the fund is Win the Right Way, a series of advertisements and short films that deliver a powerful provocation. Oscar-nominated actor Chiwetel Ejiofor (of 12 Years a Slave fame) and Golden Globe nominated actor and singer Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis) star as the story-tellers, introducing the stories of social entrepreneurs from around the world and calling on others to follow their lead.

Win the Right Way aims to inspire a new generation to achieve success whilst making a positive impact on the lives of others and is the latest instalment of Chivas Regal’s Live with Chivalry campaign, which launched in 2008.

Entries are open now and will close on 31st October, 2015, with the Australian winner to be announced mid-December. From there the Australian winner, along with up to 20 social entrepreneurs from different countries, will be invited to a week-long, entrepreneur’s training-camp in Silicon Valley, California – home to some of the world’s leading start-ups. These finalists will have the opportunity to meet business leaders of tech companies, be mentored by experts, and pitch for a portion of the $1 million in funding to take their business to the next level.
