August was an entertaining month on Twitter, with original content flying around from some of Australia’s leading brands. Melbourne won most-liveable city … again, Australia heats up for another Fifty Shades epsiode and KFC continues to make us salivate. Here are the brands that had Twitter users talking last month:

1. @Apple

In August, Apple continued its campaign for Siri featuring The Rock — sending them to even more fantastical locations. The question on all our lips is – would they fall in love if it were a real movie? Oh wait, that’s already been done.

#ROCKxSIRI Dwayne Johnson and Siri are taking it to the next level. https://t.co/mKgaNcrZEY

2. @Melbourne

Victoria’s capital has once again been named the world’s most liveable city. Melbournites using Twitter jumped on this opportunity to invite their international friends to visit and lord the accolade over their Sydney-based friends.

Seventh heaven: Melbourne has been named the Most Liveable City for the seventh year in a row! #mostliveablecity https://t.co/zn3fretKDW

3. @UniversalPicsAU

Australians are getting ready for the next Fifty Shades movie , based on their reactions to this six month teaser trailer…

Curious? 6 MONTHS until Ana and Christian rekindle their relationship in #FiftyShadesFreed https://t.co/pontxReeuT

4. @FlyAirNZ

Cats and the internet — name a more iconic duo. @FlyAirNZ are obviously on the same page, hijacking the auspicious International Cat Day to engage with its cat-loving Twitter followers across Australia.

Good Meowrning cat lovers.  Happy #InternationalCatDay! 😺 ✈ 😻 https://t.co/XMZ981XtNw

5. @KFCAustralia

SAY NO MORE KFC, you had us at ‘deep fried’! The hearts, minds and stomachs of Twitter Australia are yours.

DEEP 🧀 FRIED 🧀 MOZZARELLA 🧀 Need we say more? Get #cheesy with our brand #new Zinger Mozzarella Burger, in stores now. https://t.co/kcL7ebN1fP

6. @tabcomau

@tabcomau aren’t horsing around with this highlight reel of champion mare, Winx. Twitter users around Australia loved engaging with this video!

The mighty mare Winx returns this Saturday!  Get pumped by watching all 17 wins from her dominant streak…  #GoWinx https://t.co/NrjzdyHCjZ

7. @CallofDuty_ANZ

Wow, look at that crowd! @CallofDuty_ANZ takes this opportunity to remind us all that e-sports are the next big thing.

ICYMI – the moment @OpTicGaming became 2017 Call of Duty World League Champions 🏆  Congratulations, #GreenWall! 👏 #CWLChamps #CWLPS4 https://t.co/O6kGxICMCM

8. @ParamountAU

@ParamountAU hypes its upcoming movie, Mother, with this cryptic poster. What could it possibly mean? Twitter users are keen to find out.

They came here to see me… #mothermovie in cinemas September 14 https://t.co/5pXqtEeBGz

9. @Coles

This month we saw @Coles partner with Autism Spectrum Australia to launch Quiet Hour, a pilot program aimed at helping make the shopping experience easier for people on the autism spectrum. The Australian Twitter community got behind the initiative, sharing their support with this caring response.

@johnbissinella through Quiet Hour we can make a difference to those who face the challenge of shopping in a high sensory environment. 🙂 https://twitter.com/Coles/status/897971152831696896

10. @bethesda

Tapping into the alien hunter in all of us, @bethesda promotes its free trial of sci-fi video game, Prey. Many Australian Twitter users took the opportunity to probe deeper into the offering.
