Bauer Wields The Axe On Men’s Style Magazine

Bauer Wields The Axe On Men’s Style Magazine

Bauer Media’s disappointing year continues, with the struggling publisher closing yet another magazine – this time Men’s Style.

A Bauer spokesperson confirmed to B&T that the final issue of the quarterly publication – which has been running for nearly 15 years – will be released this summer.

“We would like to thank all of our readers and advertisers who have supported the magazine over the years, and the staff who worked hard to produce it,” the spokesperson said.

Men’s Style joins a list of magazines that Bauer has axed this year, including Rugby League Week, SHOP Til You Drop, Homes+, Recipes+, and Yours.

And it hasn’t just been these magazines that have caused Bauer headaches in 2017, with the publisher ordered to pay out $4.56 million in September for defaming Aussie actress Rebel Wilson.

Furthermore, Nick Chan made an abrupt exit from his post as CEO in June after just 14 months, with rumours suggesting his departure was Wilson’s successful defamation case against Bauer.

And in July, the publisher’s general manager of fashion, beauty and health, Fiona Legdin, packed up and left after just eight months.
