Bauer To Close Three More Titles As The Publisher Looks To “Redefine”

Bauer Media has today announced the closure of magazine titles Homes+, Recipes+ and Yours as it looks to “reshape and redefine the organisation”.

In a statement to media, Bauer said the final editions of the three titles will be published until the end of January 2018. It’s not entirely clear what will happen to staff affected by the closures.

It’s been a tough year for the publisher, still reeling from its record $4.3 million defamation loss to actor, Rebel Wilson.

The strategy, previously outlined by ANZ CEO Paul Dykzeul, is designed to ensure that Bauer can take advantage of all the opportunities the market presents, and to drive more efficient and creative ways of working in the future.

Commenting on the closures, Dykzeul said, “These are essential changes so we can anticipate and respond to changes in the publishing market and are in line with our previously-announced strategy. The organisation will ensure all employees impacted by the closure of these titles are well supported to find future opportunities.”
