Apple Release Tear-Jerker iPad Ad Featuring Boy With Autism

April the 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day and Apple has released its latest campaign around it to draw attention to sufferers and to try and flog a few iPads too.

The ad features a young American boy named Dillon who has autism and follows his difficult journey of trying to be understood by the mainstream and how he’s now using his iPad to communicate.

Check the tear-jerker out here:

“All my life I wanted so badly to connect with people. But they couldn’t understand because I had no way to communicate,” the iPad’s voice says, reading Dillon’s typed words.

“So many people can’t understand that I have a mind. All they see is a person who is not in control. But now you can hear me. The iPad helps me to see not only my words, but to hold onto my thoughts.”

The ad culminates in Dillon’s high school graduation and his speech to classmates.
