Do you have HR-types and motivational people constantly telling you to “work smarter, not harder”? Do you still feel your working impossible hours and the company’s balance sheet appears to be going backwards?

Well, there are a few mega companies out there where employees still bring in a truckload of cash. Analysts at customer acquisition firm MVF Global has crunched the numbers and found for the top 100 companies on the planet each of its employees make the firm $US1.3 million.

Unsurprisingly, the tech, entertainment and media brands had the highest revenues. Here are the top 12 (all figures are in US dollars):

12. IBM: $244,447 for every one of its 379,592 employees

11. Panasonic: $275,839 for every one if its 271,789 employees

10. Hitachi: $285,618 for every one of its 326,240 employees

9. Hewlett-Packard: $369,040 for every one of its 302,000 employees

8. Samsung: $385,440 for every one of its 489,000 employees

7. Intel: $523,618 for every one of its 107,600 employees

6. Sony: $571,450 for every one of its 131,700 employees

5. Amazon: $577,482 for every one of its 154,100 employees

4. Microsoft: $732,224 for every one of its 118,584 employees

3. Softbank: $918,449 for every one of its 70,336 employees

2. Google: $1,154,896 for every one of its 57,148 employees

1. Apple: $1,865,306 for every one of its 98,000 employees
