Which Agencies Made This Year’s List Of Best Places To Work?
OMD, The Works, MEC and Maxus have all claimed spots on this year’s list of the 50 Best Places To Work in Australia.
This year the list was broken down into three categories including the ‘over 1,000 employees’ category which was won by Mars Australia. Health care company Stryker was number one in the ‘over 100 employees’ category, while Avenue Dental (also health care) took the top spot in the ‘under 100 employees’ list.

When it came to media, marketing and martech, these were the businesses and agencies to make 2017’s list.
- Salesforce was second in the ‘over 100 employees’ category.
- Adobe Systems was 10th in the ‘over 100 employees’ category.
- MEC was 13th in the ‘over 100 employees’ category.
- OMD was 15th in the ‘over 100 employees’ category.
- Meltwater was 7th in the ‘under 100 employees’ category.
- Zinc was 10th in the ‘under 100 employees’ category.
- The Works was 14th in the ‘under 100 employees’ category.
- Maxus was 15th in the ‘under 100 employees’ category.
Commenting on this year’s results, Zrinka Lovrencic, managing director of Great Places To Work Australia, said: “Being a great workplace is no longer seen as ‘nice to have’; today it is imperative to business vitality and success. Leaders at the companies involved in the study know that what is good for the workplace is also good for business, and that being a great workplace and having great employees leads to increased client retention, customer satisfaction, and in turn, a healthier bottom line.”
The Works’ co-founder and creative partner, Kevin Macmillan, said of his agency’s top 50 finish: “Is there a better accolade for your business? Your people saying, ‘Yeah I’m really happy’. That’ll do for me. Not only that, it is undoubtedly the best starting point for brilliant creativity, productivity and business performance.”
Salesforce’s general manager and executive vice president, Mark Innes, said: “It’s a great honour to again be voted as one of the Best Places to Work in Australia, as it’s proof of the passion and commitment that goes into creating our culture.

Aimee Buchanan, chief executive of OMD Australia, said: “We are delighted to be listed again as one of the 50 best places to work in Australia.
“We have a clear company vision around performance with integrity that has a consistent focus on our people. It is their passion and commitment that sets OMD apart from the crowd and defines our brand.”
Karly Leach, managing director for Maxus Melbourne, said: “We’re thrilled to have come 15th in the 2017 Best Places to Work study. It’s a testament to the work we’ve been doing internally to continue to ensure Maxus a great place to work.
“We’re particularly proud of the efforts of our PACEMAKER Committee.”
