Reports: ACA’s Ben McCormack’s Arrest Part Of A Nationwide Paedophile Ring

A Current Affair reporter Ben McCormack’s arrest on child pornography charges last month wasn’t a one-off, but part of a wider nationwide paedophile ring it has been revealed.

According to news reports, the ring was uncovered when West Australian police arrested a child rapist in Perth. Their investigations led to a sophisticated paedophile ring being uncovered which has since snared McCormack and at least two primary school teachers.

The revelations have been made by The West Australian and suggest McCormack was snared when the rapist’s computer was seized by police and phone numbers, emails and correspondence between the ring were discovered.

McCormack has reportedly been in an undisclosed mental health facility in Sydney since his arrest, with his legal team saying he is too unwell to front court on the charges that carry as much as 15 years in prison.

It’s been alleged that McCormack was involved in child pornography “chat and exchange of pictures” for the past two years.

According to the report on The West Australian, a teacher in Perth and Queensland were also arrested alongside McCormack.

McCormack is yet to enter a plea and is expected to face court on June 20.
