X Factor out sings rating competitors

Seven was unbeatable on Sunday evening winning a total 39.3% share of all free-to-air viewers thanks to The X Factor which edged towards the two million mark.

The X Factor live performances won the night and 1.763 million viewers for Seven, according to OzTam’s preliminary metro ratings.

The reality show was a strong lead into Sunday Night (1.446 million) which outperformed Nine’s 60 Minutes which carried the final explosive interview with deceased criminal Mark Chopper Read.

The interview, which saw Read confess to four murders and trended on Twitter, pulled in 1.318 million viewers to 60 Minutes.

The audience result is a large leap from the 850,000 people who were watching Australia’s Got Talent beforehand.

Ten had a strong top 20 showing with Modern Family making it into the top 10 most watched shows with 761,000 fans tuning in.

Elementary pulled in another 664,000 for Ten and sat in 12th place.

David Attenborough: Animal Attraction was watched by 466,000 people on Ten. The day-time broadcast of the 2013 MotoGP in Phillip Island also made it into the top 20 with 422,000 viewers.

Ten took a total 15.7% share while the network’s main channel won 11.1%.

Nine sat on a combined 25.9% with 20.1% of that going to the primary channel.

Seven dominated with a total 39.3% and 31.7% on the main channel.

The ABC won 13.4% with 9.8% going to ABC1. SBS took 5.7% and SBS One had 5.1%.
