Westfield to support local and emerging fashion talent

In light of a need for the retail industry to embrace evolution and change, Westfield yesterday unveiled plans to help established and emerging Australian fashion talent

From the event yesterday morning, Westfield's designer support will be rolled out in three key stages and essentially entails the following:

1. Financial support – designer sponsorship for MBFWA will be offered to DION LEE, WE ARE HANDSOME & ROMANCE WAS BORN.

These designers will also feature in two in-centre installations in Westfield Sydney and Westfield Bondi Junction for the two weeks surrounding MBFWA.

2. Retail support – InHabit – a dedicated program in Westfield Doncaster in Victoria within a bespoke retail space from August 2014.

This innovative retail space will allow short residencies in a store outlet for a number of Australian fashion design luminaries.

3. Designer mentorship program – more information on this to be released later this year.
