Outgoing CEO of Seven West Media, Don Voelte (pictured), will remain in the group after it was announced that he will take over the reigns at Seven Group Holdings (SGH).
Voelte, who last week stepped down as CEO of Seven West Media and replaced by Tim Worner, will be the new managing director and chief executive officer of SGH.
Voelte, the former managing director and CEO of Woodside, will also be deputy chairman of Seven West Media, and takes over the from Peter Gammell who has decided to hand over as CEO and will resign as a director of SGH.
Chairman of SGH, Kerry Stokes, said: “We are pleased that Don has accepted this new challenge at SGH. His track record as an outstanding business executive speaks for itself. In his role as a director and then as CEO of Seven West Media, his contributions in implementing fundamental changes at Seven West Media have placed that company in a strong position to meet the demands of a challenging media and consumer landscape.”
Voelte said that he’s looking forward to this new role.
“Seven Group Holdings is a great company. Like a lot of companies across a number of sectors right now, it is operating in a difficult market. But it has great people, great brands and a terrific long-term partnership with Caterpillar through its WesTrac business. I am excited to get to work in this role but first I am dedicated to ensuring a successful transition of the CEO role at Seven West Media."
Gammell added: “Having spent over two decades as a commuting executive from Perth, I have decided to step back from the day-to-day responsibilities of my public role as CEO of SGH, the challenges of which I have thoroughly enjoyed."
