ABC’s The Checkout at 8pm last night made it to eighth place in the top 20 shows from yesterday as 823,000 people tuned in to the satirical consumer affairs show.
Janet King on ABC straight after The Checkout managed to scrape tenth position, with 772,000 viewers, according to OzTam preliminary ratings.
Nine’s The Block came out on top of the ratings last night with 1.434 million viewers as Seven’s My Kitchen Rules wasn’t broadcast.
Nine’s six programs in the top twenty helped the network pull in the highest combined share for last night, seeing 31.6% with its main channel at 23.9%.
Seven came in second place with a total share of 28.9%.
With five shows in the top 20, 21% of its total share went to the primary station.
The highest viewed show last night on Seven was the news at 6pm (983,000) and 6.30pm (909,000), followed by Home and Away (791,000).
ABC crept up to third place with six shows in the top 20 and a total share of 19.7%.
Its main channel, ABC1, pulled in a share of 13.5%.
Aside from The Checkout and Janet King, the various news programs also found places in the top 20 and Clarke and Dawe at 7pm grabbed 484,000 viewers and placed 17th.
SBS came fifth with a total share of 5.1%, with 4.2% going to SBS One.
