The Block stays above a million but MKR proposal wins top spot

Nine’s The Block: All Stars has stayed above the million mark for the third successive night as 1.173 million people tune into the show.

The Block was the fifth most watched program overall on Tuesday night, was third favourite with 16-39 year olds and came fourth in the 18-49 demographic, according to OzTam’s preliminary metro ratings.

On Sunday evening The Block took top spot due to the absence of My Kitchen Rules with 1.399 million viewers and on claimed an audience of 1.194 million on Monday night.

Seven’s My Kitchen Rules continues to reign supreme as 2.076 million people watched Stefano propose to Lisa before the pair scrambled their second instant restaurant.

Packed To The Rafters was behind MKR with an audience of 1.412 million.

Nine’s The Big Bang Theory sat in sixth place with 1.164 million viewers and was the second most watched show in the 16-39 and 18-49 demos.

A repeat of the American comedy sat outside the top in total people but claimed a top 10 spot among the important 16-39 and 18-49 age brackets.

It was a similar story for 2 Broke Girls which rated 14th overall but took sixth place in both demos.

Seven’s soapy Home and Away claimed 940,000 sets of eyeballs in 10th place in all people.

Ten’s best performing program was Ten News at Five in 13th place with 725,000 viewers while NCIS won over an audience of 634,000.

The most watched Ten show among 16-39 year olds was MasterChef: The Professionals with 168,000 viewers and 241,000 among 18-49s.

Seven dominated with a 29.6% share of all free-to-air viewers ahead of Nine’s 20.7%.

Ten took 11.8%, just behind the ABC’s 12.2% share. SBS won a share of 3.7%.
