Ten suffers Monday night dip as ABC rallies

Channel Ten’s daily share plunged to just 11.8% as an 80s themed evening on Nine and the first X Factor eviction, as well as a powerful political line-up from ABC drove them to fourth place.

While The X Factor was again the most-watched show (1.428m) for Seven Home and Away was the surprise package pulling 1m viewers in sixth spot, beating Nine’s Big Brother eviction into tenth (887,000), which was pipped by The Amazing 80s (894,000).

Ten’s MasterChef finals week again failed to really sizzle with an audience of 811,000, with just two other shows from the channel in the top 20 of the OzTam Overnight ratings.

Seven won the primary channel fight with 22.5%, Nine was second with 19.9%, ABC1 third on 15.4%, thanks to strong showings from Media Watch, Q&A and Australian Story, Ten got 11.8% and SBS One 4.3%.
