'Stuff up' sees The Australian post Logies winners early

The Australian became the second News limited paper in two years to break the embargo on the Logies award winners, announcing Asher Keddie as the Gold winner hours before the as-live TV broadcast.

Last year the Herald Sun caused uproar on social media when it blamed Google for posting the results of the awards.

But last night the journalist who penned the story, Michael Bodey, took to Twitter to blame his own production team for the “stuff up”, pleading with other news outlets “For good of the #logies13 can we not draw attention until midnight? Then pillory me all u like”.

Keddie got the gong for her role in Ten drama Offspring, also scooping the Silver Logie for most popular actress for the third year running.

Meanwhile Nine’s resurgence last year was highlighted by a haul of eight gongs, including two for The Voice, Howzat! Kerry Packer’s War, and Hamish Blake as most popular presenter.

Foxtel also walked away with metal, picking up the Most Outstanding Sports Coverage award for its heralded and groundbreaking London 2012 Olympic Games coverage.

Seven’s awards included Most Outstanding Light Entertainment Program for The X Factor, and Most Popular Actor for Steve Peacocke on Home and Away.
