The Seven Network has picked up the exclusive broadcast rights to Rugby League World Cup taking place in the northern hempisphere later this year.
Seven has swooped in to pinch the rights from under the nose of incumbent the Nine network, who holds the FTA rights to rugby league in Australia.
The Rugby League World Cup will take in England and Wales, with matches also held in Ireland and France, in October and November.
Following an agreement with IMG Media, Seven will show all matches live on 7mate and on online and mobile platforms.
Fourteen teams will take part in the World Cup, with New Zealand the defending champions.
