Rokt takes ex-Adconion MD Davies for global push

Rokt has lured former Adconion Australia MD Peter Davies to be its chief revenue officer, to be based in New York, as it looks to make a global expansion push.

Davies, a former NineMSN sales manager, left Australia last year to take the role of SVP of Sales and marketing for Adconion in the US, but left that job in June and started marketing advisory firm 2108 Marketing.

The role will see him tasked with building the presence of the digital referral advertising business in international markets including the US when they launch there early next year.

Rokt CEO Bruce Buchanan said they are experiencing a “fast and furious global growth trajectory”, adding: “We need someone with the tenacity and the industry know-how across all digital channels , to help bring our vision of making our referral marketing platform global. Peter is that person.”

Davies said he was looking at Rokt to provide “unique digital experiences”, adding: “‘During the past 10 years I have heard a lot of talk and some preaching about the promise of a better advertising experience for digital consumers, advertisers and partners, due to advancements in technology, data and targeting.

“Yet in the same period, click through rates have declined significantly display advertising growth is slowing; publisher yields are lower and consumers are becoming increasingly concerned about issues such as privacy.”
